Closure Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will the library reopen?
A: The earliest all three locations will open is Monday, May 4th. If conditions warrant, the closure may be extended.
Q: What will happen to my holds?
A: Holds not picked up by close of business on Monday, March 16th at Ida Rupp and Marblehead will be returned to the owning library. Holds not picked up by close of business on Saturday, March 14th at Erie Islands Library will be returned to the owning library. Holds that are currently not available will be suspended and you will be placed back in the queue when the library reopens.
Q: What should I do with the items I already have checked out?
A: Due dates will be extended until after the library reopens. Book drops are closed, please hold your materials until the library reopens. Fines will not be charged.
Q: Can we use Wi-Fi outside of the building?
A: Yes, Wi-Fi does extend to some areas outside of our buildings. The Wi-Fi will remain on and patrons are welcome to use it outside of the building.
Q: What will happen with the book club I attend?
A: Any library sponsored book clubs that were scheduled to take place during the closure will not take place. The titles that were selected to be read during the canceled meeting will be pushed to the following regularly scheduled meeting.
Q: How can I participate in the March Madness contest?
A: Starting Tuesday, March 17th, voting for the March Madness challenge will move to our Facebook page.
Q: What will happen to the Winter Reading Challenge?
A: The Winter Reading Challenge will end early. All entries must be submitted by 8:30 pm on Monday, March 16th.
