VOLUNTEER

Library Volunteers

The Ida Rupp Public Library encourages volunteerism at the library. Volunteers enable the library to enhance the level of service provided to library users.  Prospective volunteers are required to meet with the volunteer coordinator to discuss the program and the volunteer job descriptions. Volunteers are asked to commit to a regular schedule.  A variety of volunteer positions are available for consideration, and may vary depending on time of year and help needed.

Volunteer positions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering materials to homebound borrowers

  • Assist with packing and unpacking of materials (going to and coming from other libraries)

  • Shelving

  • Calling borrowers when requests are available for pick-up

  • Help with programs

Please contact the library with any questions about our volunteer program!  Click here to download an application.

Literacy Volunteers

In addition to the opportunities available within our library, volunteers are also needed to help with literacy needs in the area. Project Read is a program for adult learners who wish to improve their reading skills. They are always looking for volunteers to assist with tutoring.  Interested parties may call 419-455-1072 or email nwohioprojectread@gmail.com.
