To facilitate moving part of the collection to storage, Ida Rupp Public Library - Port Clinton will be closed Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26. Our branch locations will be open as regularly scheduled. We encourage you to visit them!
If you have items on hold, please notify the library if you'd like them to be move to our hold lockers, or to a branch for pickup. Items on hold will have their pick up by date extended to Wednesday, May 1.
Our programs taking place off site will continue as planned. Grab and go kits can be picked up while supplies last outside the 3rd Street entrance.
Storytime at Ida Rupp and Tech Help at Ida Rupp will be canceled for the week.

The Board of Trustees of the Ida Rupp Public Library has awarded a construction project to Telamon Construction, Inc. for an interior renovation of our main library.

The project designed by HBM Architects, LLC will rework the interior of the library to better utilize our space. The library is looking forward to an updated interior that will include a larger children's programming space, dedicated local history room, an inclusive restroom designed to accommodate families with children and those with accessibility or assistance needs, new furniture, new lower shelving and more.

The project will be completed in three phases beginning in late April 2024. A temporary wall will be build down the center of the library to cordon off certain spaces as the project progresses.

Due to floor plan that will be available during our phased construction, a large number of library materials will be packed and moved to storage for the duration of the renovation. A browsing collection that represents most collection areas will be available during the renovation. Our Local History, Bataan and Ohioana collections will be moved to storage in their entirety during the renovation.

Many library programs will take place at off site locations throughout the community. We will also have some take home activities available during the renovation.
