Ottawa County America 250 Memory Book

Ida Rupp Libraries is putting together a memory book to celebrate the Semiquincentennial, the United States of America’s 250th Birthday! Submit your memory for inclusion in the book. Your submissions will be organized into a book that will be bound and printed and kept at the library for future generations to enjoy.
Share what you would like future generations to know about your experience of living in Ottawa County in 2026. 

Some ideas are:
•    Share a favorite recipe.
•    Submit photos you’ve taken from the area, your home, your family, yourself. 
•    Describe your plans for celebrating the Semiquincentennial. 
•    Write about a day in your life in 2026.
•    Write about how the area has changed in your lifetime. 

Guidelines:
•    Submissions must be made on an 8 ½” (w) x 11” (h) piece of paper, or submitted electronically to fit on an 8 ½” x 11” area, oriented in a portrait manner. Please do not put anything within 1/8” from the edge of all sides of the paper/graphic. 
•    Any submissions must be original content; they may not contain copyrighted text or images. 
•    Submissions must have a signed release form included. 
•    Submission must be received by Friday, July 31, 2026.

The library has the right to exclude any submission that does not follow submission guidelines, or library standards. Pages that are submitted in paper format will be scanned and reproduced in the book. If you would like your original submission back, they will be available for pickup at the library location you submitted your form beginning September 1, 2026. Submissions not picked up by September 30, 2026 will be discarded.
