  • Search the library catalog and place holds.

  • Renew items

  • Event calendar - Easy to navigate event list for programs scheduled at Ida Rupp Public Library, Erie Islands Library, and Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library. Click the event for more information and view online to register for an event (if required), add the event to your calendar, and share the event with your friends and family.

If you do not want to interact with these beacons you can opt-out to disable it on your mobile device.

  • Register for a room at Ida Rupp Public Library or Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library.

App Permissions:

Starting with iOS 10 and Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), both Apple and Google require that apps explicitly request permission to private areas of a users device. Examples of this are the phone dialer, calendar, and device camera. Users can opt to disable these permissions when prompted, but doing so may prevent certain features from being available. Here are each permission the app may request access to and what its used for:

  1. Calendar Permission - This is used to add reminders upon request for library events to your device calendar.

  2. Camera Permission - This is used for ISBN Scanning functionality

  3. Call Permission - This is used to start the dialer when contacting one of the library branches automatically.

  4. Bluetooth Permission - This is used to interactive with iBeacons around the library, as those devices operate on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

  5. Location Permission - Used in conjunction with Bluetooth Permissions to determine range to a beacon or beacons.

  6. AutoStart Permission - Used in conjunction with Bluetooth Permissions to ensure the app runs in the background silently when your phone is rebooted in order to continue listening for beacons (if a user has opted in only).

  7. Write External Storage - This is used to temporarily store cached cover image art when searching for items. This cache is cleared automatically when the app is closed.
