Summer Reading 2023 - All Together Now

It's almost time for Summer Reading again! Hard to believe we're through winter and going into the summer months already.

This year's theme is "All Together Now", which is all about unity, kindness, and friendship. We're using that theme to spotlight bringing our communities together and showcasing all of the wonderful things our towns have to offer.

Like last year, we'll be down at Meals on Madison (now called Main Street Port Clinton Entertainment District, or "The District"). You can also find us at each of our libraries and out in the communities throughout the program.

The fun will kick off with a circus on June 1. Enjoy different acts from Birds Eye View Circus starting at 11 a.m. at The District. For those on Put-In-Bay, our Erie Islands Library branch will have their own kickoff at 5 p.m. featuring hot dogs and cookies. You can also join the staff of Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library at 6 p.m. for a walking tour of Downtown Marblehead to learn history of the town.

All of our other fun programs throughout the summer are on our website calendar. You can also check out our Summer Library Challenge page.

Those with kids in school should've received a paper copy of the summer calendar. The calendars can also be found at each branch if you did not get a copy.

Also like last year, you can keep track on the Beanstack app. If you've registered for a past Summer Reading program, Winter Reading, or 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten; there's no need to re-register. Just sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge. Don't forget to log anything you read, watch, or listen to along with any programs you attend to get points and earn badges that go toward our grand prize. This year, we will have gift cards for local businesses for each age group at each branch.

We hope to see everyone and can't wait to hear about what you're reading!
