Staff Anniversaries - September 2023

The library would be nowhere without it's staff. Throughout the year, we'd like to celebrate our amazing staff by recognizing them in their anniversary month. This month marks the anniversary of Susan, Laura, Margaret, Jolene, and Jamie. All of them can be found at Ida Rupp, and Margaret can also be seen at Marblehead!

Susan

Job title: Circulation desk

Favorite part of the job: The times when I find the right book or answer for someone.

Laura

Job Title: Marketing Coordinator/AV Associate

Favorite part of the job: I love talking movies with patrons. Along those lines, I love getting to participate in the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival each year. I'm excited our little library participates in a global film festival that features little-known short films.

Margaret

Job Title: Library Assistant

Favorite part of my job: Well everything. Talking with the patrons and helping them find books to putting together the Grab and Go's at Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library.

Currently reading: I have only just started Murder at the Lakeside Library. But I am looking forward to Payback in Death by J.D. Robb. I have read all of the J. D Robb in death books.

Currently watching: I binged Longmire, thinking I wouldn't like it but I watch all 5 seasons. I also have been watching The First 48 Hours. Love those crime shows. I am into watching the live feeds for Big Brother. That is a reality show on CBS. You can watch the live feeds on Paramount+ but don't get me started on the drama.

Jolene

Job Title: Clerk

Favorite part of the job: I love when I help someone navigate the copier/scanner and they are so thankful that I walked them through the steps. Our machines can be intimidating when looking at all the functions, so when a patron comes in already overwhelmed and I can lessen their stress, I am proud to be a library employee.

Currently listening to: Point of Retreat - Colleen Hoover; Homebodies - Tembe Denton-Hurst; I do love to pick up a physical book but with having young ones at home it is easier to listen to books while doing the dishes or laundry.

Jamie

Job Title: Circulation Supervisor

Favorite part of the job: great people I work with and talking with patrons about what they are reading/watching

Currently watching: British TV series Fortitude-a horror psychological thriller that takes place on a fictional Norwegian arctic island
