August is already upon us and, although I’m not sure about your status, I haven’t read as many books, watched as many movies, and listened to as many audio books as I had hoped. Around Memorial Day, every year, my intentions and expectations rise to the occasion; this Summer, one way or another, I thought I’d finally become that well-versed and well-read connoisseur of culture I aspire to be. As I write this month’s piece I can’t help but wonder what happened to the first half of summer. June’s having breezed by so quickly points to positive signs: an active Summer Programming schedule, the hustle and bustle of the annual influx of our summer-residents and vacationing visitors, and weather that, while dry, has proved to be summer-like: hot. But before we find ourselves upon the doorstep of Labor Day, at summer’s end, I’d be remiss to not highlight several points below, the one glue holding all together being that the list, in some way or ways, is related to summer-themed activities and services.
