Meet the Staff - December 2023

Each month, we will be highlighting different members of our staff so you can get to know us. This month, we'll introduce you to Lindsay, our Director.

Lindsay

I grew up in a neighborhood called Library Village in Toledo. I started working at the library that is at the front of the neighborhood when I was in high school and determined that I wanted to be a librarian. This is my twenty-first year working in a library. In my free time I enjoy bird watching and photography. A visit to Magee Marsh during the Spring migration turned me into a bird nerd. I enjoy traveling and exploring new outdoor places, and more recently, places with lots of birds. Listening to live music is also something that I do when I am able and often feels like a spiritual experience.

What you're currently reading/watching/listening to.

I am currently reading The Mystery Guest: A Maid Novel by Nita Prose. I loved The Maid so much, that I put myself on the hold list as soon as I heard the book was being published. I am listening to I Swear: Politics Is Messier Than My Minivan by Katie Porter. According to my Spotify wrap, I have been listening to Brandi Carlile, The Avett Brothers and Trampled by Turtles a whole lot.

Favorite food

I love Indian food, sadly we don't have any locally. I could also eat Mexican food everyday and enjoy Casa Las Palmas, but really miss Tex-Mex from my time in Texas.

Dream vacation

There are a multitude of places on my bucket list to visit, right now the top is Italy. I've been trying to get there since high school!

First and best concert(s)

I am up to 119 on my list of artists I've seen live. I don't have dates for the earliest concerts, but I believe a Bush concert would have been my first. It's hard to pick the best, but one of the best was The Avett Brothers three nights in a row in at the Chicago Theater. David Bowie is also a highlight.
